Retirement Communities
Also known as life-care, these facilities provide a range of accommodations and services. A Continuing Care Retirement Community offers multiple levels of care. In this type of community, active seniors enjoy a carefree, independent lifestyle with the knowledge that they can easily transfer to a different type of care should their health care situation change. Many provide independent living, assisted living, and nursing and rehabilitative care for their residents. Residents are able to move from one level of care to another, based on their individual needs.
The contracts vary but normally cover shelter, amenities, residential services and any short term or emergency care. In addition to a monthly maintenance fee, an entrance fee may be required. CCRCs assess each prospective resident\'s health and financial situation to ensure a proper fit with the services offered and the fees required.
The following communities offer different levels of care and assistance.
